Capital Governance Manager

**Brickworks are seeking a strategic and results-driven Capital Governance Manager to be based in Horsley Park NSW. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this pivotal role will embed capital governance across the Group, integrating strategic oversight, project management excellence, and asset risk management. You will play a key role in shaping the capital budgeting process, supporting execution teams, and ensuring alignment with the corporate strategy.
Duties include but are not limited to:**
- Oversee the coordination of the annual capital budgeting process, working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams to develop and submit the budget for Board approval.
- Maintain the five-year capital plan and ensure projects align with corporate objectives.
- Oversee capital approval workflows and ensure compliance with governance protocols and efficiency in the approvals process.
- Provide commercial and financial insights throughout the capital budgeting and project lifecycle.
- Oversee the company's asset criticality review process, including ownership of assessments, training, and integration into capital planning and maintenance strategies. Support local operations teams to complete annual updates to the asset criticality assessments.
- Develop and enforce asset risk management standards and practices in collaboration with plant managers and subject matter experts.
- Provide project management and reporting support to delivery teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to maintain and enhance project management tools and methodologies, including training.
- Monitor capital spend against budget, identify variances, and manage associated risks.
- Report on project and portfolio performance using KPIs and dashboards.
- Facilitate post-project reviews, major project risk reviews, and lessons learned sessions.
- Prepare and present monthly Capital Committee reports and dashboards, to support strategic alignment and prioritisation of capital projects.
- Collaborate with Risk, Audit, and Tax teams on asset-related audits and recommend capital mitigations for asset risks.
Success Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, or a related field is advantageous.
- Professional certifications in Project Management are required.
- Proven experience in capital governance, project management and financial analysis within a manufacturing or building products environment.
- Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes and asset maintenance philosophies.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior executives and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency across the Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
