Where you'll be working
This role is based out of our Subiaco Office in Perth and sits within the Materials Management & Logistics team supporting multiple Australian sites across Boddington, Tanami and Cadia.
This role will suit applicants currently living in Perth. Residents of another Australian capital city will be considered for the ideal candidate. Full eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.
This role will be offered on a fully flexible hybrid/work from home basis. It is anticipated you will be a seasoned professional accustomed to working from home while utilising the Newmont capital city office hub when required to be effective in your role.
Who we're looking for :
Officer, Disposal
Reporting to the Team Lead Logistics & Disposal, The Officer, Disposal will facilitate the sale and disposal of equipment and obsolete inventory, ensuring compliance with all recycling and waste disposal regulations and requirements, and prepare comprehensive documentation to support these activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assess disposal requirements, monitor disposal submissions, process through the Newmont disposal system ensuring compliance to procedures and standards.
- Evaluate asset and inventory sales and processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including commercial recovery.
- Perform duties in compliance with established standards and procedures to maintain effective internal control over the end to end disposal process.
- Ensure all site stakeholders are aware of the asset and inventory disposal processes.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver optimum risk management and commercial outcomes
Skills & Qualification:
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience required.
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) can be advantageous.
- Broad business knowledge and focus, ability to recognize issues, problems, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
- Familiarity with mining industry-specific equipment, spare parts, consumables, and their supply and demand cycles.
- Knowledge of HSE standards and regulations, especially as they apply to inventory and material handling in the mining sector.
- Experience using ERP systems, particularly SAP.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (such as procurement, warehousing, maintenance and operations) to ensure alignment of inventory and assets with broader business objectives.
- Business acumen skills related to direct external sales, including negotiation and contracts.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
