About The Role
As a Security Advisor in the Cyber Intel & Detection team, you'll lead technical investigations, threat hunting, and intelligence operations. You'll shape detection capabilities, mentor others, and contribute to a security-aware culture across Suncorp.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and enhance detection systems to identify emerging threats and incidents
  • Lead technical investigations and support incident response with deep system knowledge
  • Develop and run hunting frameworks to uncover suspicious activity across networks and systems
  • Build and maintain threat intelligence capabilities, staying ahead of evolving methodologies
  • Drive automation and orchestration to streamline cyber operations and improve accuracy
  • Coach and mentor team members, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative security culture

What You'll Bring

  • Substantial hands-on experience in IT security, including threat intelligence and hunting
  • Expertise in detection, alerting, incident response and technical investigations
  • Knowledge of attacker tactics, threat landscapes, and security research trends
  • Experience with SIEM, endpoint detection, forensics, and automation tools
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, and enterprise security platforms
  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach, influence and communicate across technical and business teams
