Maintenance Coordinator – Currambena Preschool & Primary School

Location: Lane Cove, Sydney

Employment Type: Part-time (negotiable)

Start Date: Early 2026 (or by negotiation)

Currambena is an independent, progressive preschool and primary school with a long history of providing a nurturing, child-centred education. We are seeking a practical, organised, and community-minded Maintenance Coordinator to join our dedicated team and help care for our unique learning environment.

As Maintenance Coordinator, you'll play an essential role in ensuring our facilities, grounds, and resources are safe, well-maintained, and reflect the values of our school community. This is a hands-on role that also involves coordination, planning, and collaboration with staff, contractors, and the Educational Coordinator.

About the Role

You will:

  • Oversee the maintenance and development of our buildings, grounds, and resources.
  • Coordinate and supervise tradespeople and contractors.
  • Carry out simple maintenance works where possible.
  • Implement the school's cyclical maintenance plan in collaboration with the Educational Coordinator and Business Administrator.
  • Carry out regular inspections of facilities, playgrounds, and perimeters to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Manage quotes, schedules, and records related to repairs, maintenance, and equipment.
  • Ensure all work aligns with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
  • Participate in planning and delivery of both minor and major projects.
  • Liaise with our cleaning contractor and support preparations for school events.

About You

You are someone who:

  • Is proactive, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming environments.
  • Can work independently and manage competing priorities with confidence.
  • Communicates clearly and works respectfully with staff, contractors, and the wider school community.
  • Has experience in building or grounds maintenance, trades coordination, or a related role.
  • Understands or is willing to learn about compliance, safety standards, and documentation systems.
  • Holds (or can obtain) a current Working with Children Check.
  • Has sound knowledge of OHS practices and relevant training (or willingness to undertake).
