Cairns School of Distance Education is seeking three motivated and experienced Business Managers to play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting innovative learning delivery. As part of the school's leadership team, you'll help shape strategic direction,

Cairns School of Distance Education is a Queensland state school located in Manunda, providing high-quality, flexible education from Prep to Year 12 for students across Queensland and beyond. The school is committed to personalised learning, offering a supportive and engaging curriculum for both home-based and school-based learners. Through initiatives like orientation days, camps, home visits, and mini schools, students are given valuable opportunities for connection and hands-on learning.

As Business Managers you will work together to provide strategic and operational service delivery each with different focus areas grouped as:


• Finance

• Enrolments

• Infrastructure/Human Resource/Work Health and Safety

Responsibilities Include:


• Provide leadership and oversight across key areas including finance, student enrolments, infrastructure, human resources, and workplace health and safety.

• Undertake the day-to-day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance.

• Identify workforce capability requirements and role model high performance standards.

• Support the identification of professional learning needs and staff development priorities, in consultation with the AO7 Business Manager.
