Technical Analyst – WFM Project

Your role

Join New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice as a Technical Analyst on the Workforce Management Upgrade Project for Corrective Services. You will provide expert technical guidance, ensure integration with human resources, payroll, and other systems, and deliver solutions that improve rostering, payroll, and time management processes.

This is a high-impact, enterprise-wide project offering the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders and vendors and make a real difference in how the organisation manages its workforce.

What you'll do

Be a key part of the Workforce Management Upgrade Project team, delivering innovative rostering and payroll solutions:

  • Identify technical and functional requirements for rostering processes
  • Manage system integrations and ensure accurate payroll and entitlements
  • Provide solutions for data remediation and system updates
  • Collaborate with vendors, stakeholders, and department experts on end-to-end technical solutions
  • Action design queries and resolve issues within agreed timeframes
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, and solution-focused environment

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience with the applicable technology platform, with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call or after-hours roster if required
  • A valid NSW driver's licence, if required, for travel to the Data Centre or on-site client support

What we're looking for

We are seeking a skilled Technical Analyst with expertise in workforce management and system integration:

  • Workforce Management Expertise: Strong experience managing rostering systems and integrating with corporate payroll
  • Technical Reporting Skills: Experience developing reports using Cognos or similar tools
  • Business Process Knowledge: Understanding of shiftwork, award-relevant pay, and entitlements
  • Technical Integration Skills: Knowledge of API processes, testing endpoints, and troubleshooting data interfaces
