The role

Crown Lands is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Spatial Analyst to manage and deliver system enhancements, maintenance, configuration, monitoring, and reporting for spatial applications and platforms, in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

This includes providing technical support, overseeing application hosting, and leading the development and ongoing maintenance of customised Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and applications to streamline business processes, enhance data quality, and improve the experience for customers and users.

As the Senior Spatial Analyst, you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Provide specialist and expert advice on the solution, design, implementation, maintenance and integration of spatial systems, tools and databases.
  • Act as the Technical Lead in resolving critical and major incidents, identifying root causes, implementing remedial or preventative measures, and ensuring clients are kept informed through timely updates and reporting in line with agreed procedures.
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met, enabling the achievement of the integration of Crown Land spatial systems and delivery of data products and spatial tools.

What you will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of GIS software and experience in the development and management of Geodatabases and GIS programming.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience and understanding of the operations and administration of Geographic Information Systems and database development and delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What is an Essential Requirement:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other relevant field and professional experience.
