The RoleMake a difference in our community
You will be a compassionate and dedicated MCH Nurse who enjoys making a positive impact through the provision of a flexible and responsive service to families with young children from birth to school age.
In this role you will:
- Provide the Victorian maternal and child health service program using a family centred partnership approach, in accordance with the MCH service program guidelines, standards, and legislation.
- Facilitate group work, including new parent groups, drop-in programs, and group-based initiatives
- Support and participate in the student clinical placement program within the MCH Service.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience and skills:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Division 1 Registered nurse and midwife.
- Hold Postgraduate qualifications in Child Family and Community Health - Maternal Child Health Nursing
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills, to provide an evidence based and inclusive Victorian Maternal and Child Health program, to our diverse range of families with young children from birth to school age.
- Demonstrated knowledge of primary health care, health promotion and an understanding of early intervention.
- A commitment to the provision of a quality service and continuous improvement.
- Well-developed communication skills including interpersonal, written skills and ability to engage with diverse communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of Child Information Sharing Schemes and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes, MARAM and Child Safe Standards.
