The City of Whittlesea has exciting permanent, Full-time opportunities available for qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurses to join our inclusive and supportive MCH Team.

The MCH Service is a varied and dynamic service with a multidisciplinary team of MCH nurses, early childhood professionals, lactation consultants, aboriginal MCH program, social worker, family violence practitioner and administration team. With all team members being well supported by the MCH leadership team.

A comprehensive and supportive program is available for new graduate MCH nurses with the provision of professional education days and one on one mentoring.

You will be a compassionate and dedicated Maternal and Child Health Nurse who enjoys making a positive impact through providing a flexible and responsive service to families with young children.

In this role you will:

  • Provide the Victorian maternal and child health service program using a family centred partnership approach in accordance with the service program guidelines and standards.
  • Facilitate group work, including new parent groups, drop-in programs, and group-based initiatives

About youTo be successful in this role, you will have the following experience:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Division 1 Registered Nurse and Midwife.
  • Hold Postgraduate qualifications in Child Family and Community Health- Maternal Child Health Nursing
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide and deliver the Victorian Maternal & Child Health program to the diverse range of families with young children from birth to school age.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of primary health care, health promotion and principals of early intervention.
  • A commitment to the provision of a quality service and continuous improvement.
  • Well-developed communication skills including interpersonal and written skills.
