We're on the hunt for an experienced Account Director to join our Brisbane team, working across 2 of our largest retail clients in a parental leave contract capacity. This role will see you as the day-to-day client lead, managing a team of 3 and working in close collaboration with your Media Implementation and Strategy counterparts. You will play a key leadership role as part of the broader client group, with exposure to both the Australian and New Zealand markets given the trans-tasman focus of your clients. In this role you will be responsible for delivering market leading media strategies and executions that will unlock growth for your client's business. You will play an essential role in advancing our 'We Create What's Next' ambition for our clients, our people and our partners.
What you'll do:
- Lead the team (3 direct reports) in the use of the OMD planning process (OMD Design) to create media strategies and best in class executions
- Play a key role in strategic development workshops (client and media partners)
- Ensure in-depth assessment of all communication options, using media research tools, delivering innovative insights
- Collaborate with and share information with all stakeholders, including external agency partners
- Ensure the reporting of competitive, consumer and market data delivers innovative and actionable insights to form the basis of future recommendations
- Present detailed communications plans to clients including strategy, implementation planning, execution, sponsorship considerations (corporate, broadcast & data partnerships) and overall budget management
- Monitor and report on agency contract KPIs
- Understand and drive the commercial arrangements with all your clients
- Promote additional OMD's services to clients when appropriate – understand capability, be able to pressure test relevance and know how to convert an opportunity
- Ensure financial and operational excellence is delivered across your team
- Effective management and leadership of any direct reports
- Deliver best in class client service that builds business
What you'll need:
- Be an ambitious team player, and who thrives in a high-performance environment
- Seeks broad experience and continued learning across all facets of media planning (traditional, digital, tech, analytics, strategy, comms planning, sponsorship)
- An experienced channel & implementation planning expert (Application of strategy to execution); online and offline
- Has strong budget and financial management
- Has a desire and motivation to get under the hood of their client partners brands, macro business and marketing (Business performance, brand health, creative & media effectiveness)
- Experience using discovered insights to recommend communication initiatives
- Impeccable attention to detail and ability to deliver work on time
- A passion for understanding and delivering on client business goals
- The ability to build strong client relationships and trust quickly
- Experience in managing direct reports, with a focus on their development.
- A proactive thinker who is always exploring new ways of doing things whilst respecting proven processes
- Demonstrated experience leading a team at Account Director level
