The Opportunity
Ready to take your next big step? Join Vocus as a Senior Systems Engineer and help shape the future of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you'll work closely with the Cloud Engineering Lead to design and implement cutting-edge compute environments and management services that power our business.

You'll be at the forefront of driving automation and repeatability, collaborating with talented teams across the organisation to translate requirements into best-practice solutions. What You'll Be Doing Day-to-day

  • Shape the future of Vocus infrastructure by designing, planning, and implementing compute systems and services using secure design principles and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Lead innovation by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability through new technologies and smarter solutions.
  • Be the source of clarity by creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation and reports that guide teams and stakeholders.
  • Enable seamless operations by working closely with cross-functional teams to transition systems and services into production environments.
  • Set the standard by defining and promoting industry best practices for system use, maintenance, and optimisation.
  • Keep systems performing at their peak through proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Drive collaboration and shared success by partnering effectively with teams across the organisation to deliver robust, future-ready solutions.

What You'll Bring To This Role

  • To be successful in this role as the Senior Systems Engineer, you will have proven experience and the ability to design and implement secure, resilient, scalable, high performance and cost-effective solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of the design of enterprise-grade configuration management and orchestration systems including:

  • IaC and configuration management: Terraform, Puppet, Ansible

  • Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes or equivalents
  • Source code control: Git

  • Knowledge of installation and configuration of Linux and Windows servers.

  • Detailed understanding of infrastructure models and technologies.
  • Detailed understanding of monitoring and observability solutions.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills such as Python, Powershell, Bash or equivalents
