An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced tax professional to take on a senior leadership role with broad responsibility for tax governance and compliance. Reporting into the Head of Tax, this a key appointment which involves shaping the strategic direction of the group's tax function and driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and frameworks.

About the Role

This role will lead a capable team, overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, reporting and risk management. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior finance and commercial stakeholders, the role combines hands-on technical oversight with strategic leadership and transformation delivery.

Key focus areas include:

  • Managing end-to-end tax compliance across direct, indirect and employment taxes, including transfer pricing and tax-effect accounting.
  • Overseeing preparation and review of tax returns, disclosures and reporting, ensuring alignment with the group's governance framework.
  • Leading engagement with external advisers, auditors and tax authorities.
  • Maintaining a proactive approach to tax risk management through development and testing of controls and policies.
  • Identifying and implementing process efficiencies, automation opportunities and system enhancements.
  • Providing pragmatic, commercially sound tax advice on transactions, projects and operational matters.
  • Supporting the continuous development of team capability and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A background in a leading professional services firm combined with in-house experience in a complex corporate environment.
  • Deep expertise across corporate income tax, governance and tax effect accounting
  • Proven success leading and mentoring teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience delivering transformation or process improvement initiatives within a tax or finance function.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and partner effectively at all levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving business.
