Focus of the Role

In this role you will focus on complex fault investigation, project participation and operational improvement.

Additionally, this role will provide technical leadership for Telstra's customers, stakeholders and engineering teams.

What You'll Do

Telstra Enterprise - Enterprise Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Telstra's enterprise business, including order fulfillment, customer support, and service delivery.

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Perform or participate in complex, specialised technical investigations to determine/confirm system and design standards and performance parameters for the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra

  • Deliver and/or develop technical training, updates & or briefings to staff to ensure understanding of process & procedures

  • Diagnose and restore complex issues with the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra

  • Prepare process documentation to describe how networks, infrastructure, products and services operate.

  • Provide input into and maintain technical documentation

  • Diagnose and restore complex issues associated to customer's private networks for Telstra's State Government customers.

  • Deliver and/or develop technical training, updates & or briefings to staff to ensure understanding of process & procedures. Diagnose and restore complex issues with the networks, infrastructure, products and services supplied and operated by Telstra.

  • Prepare process documentation to describe how networks, infrastructure, products and services operate.

  • Provide input into and maintain technical documentation.

  • Provide pro-active Change management with customers to ensure that customer impact of service/network changes and planned outages are minimised

  • Participate in change activity (including approval) across multiple customer private networks.

PLEASE NOTE : this role will participate in an on-call roster

About You

Essential

  • IP Routing & Switching - Expert knowledge of IP Routing and switching. Extensive experience in all the major routing and switching protocols, such as MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, RIP V2, and Multicast, Spanning Tree, VLANs

  • Seasoned professional in providing level 3 support dealing with customers and complex platforms and product issues

  • Experience with Cisco Wi-Fi technologies

  • Experience with Firewall architecture (including security policy administration)

  • High level of experience with Cisco enterprise routers & switches essential

  • Knowledge of access technologies (NBN, Ethernet, 4G and Fibre Services)

Highly desirable

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Telecommunications or equivalent

  • Strong experience in the telecommunication industry, including experience working in a service provider or large enterprise environment

  • ITILv3 certified

  • Experience with SD-WAN

  • Experience with Extreme Networks technologies

  • Experience with Network Management Systems (SSH, SNMP, AAA, SysLog)

  • Experience with Cisco ISE

  • Experience with Cisco DNAC

  • CCIE routing & switching

  • Cisco CCNP (Security, Data Centre)

  • Experience with hypervisor and virtual environment technologies

  • Unix/Linux skills

  • Experience in network automation using Python, Puppet, Javascript, Ansible, Powershell and would be highly advantageous to the position
