Flight Training Adelaide Queensland (FTAQ) specialises in ab-initio pilot training for the airline industry. FTA has a long term contract to provide services for the QANTAS pilot training academy.
We have a modern and well-equipped campus and hangar based at Wellcamp Airport, just outside the stunning rural city of Toowoomba in South Queensland. The current fleet comprises of Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft.

Your OpportunityWe are seeking a highly organised and proactive Casual Management Support Officer for up to 20 hours a week to support our engineering team, reporting directly to the Chief Engineer.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration, excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our engineering department, facilitating communication, and maintaining accurate records to a high standard.
Responsibilities and Duties- Respond to incoming communications and direct calls to staff.
- Provide administrative support to the engineering team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements when required.
- Prepare and format technical documents, reports, and presentations.
- Maintain and organise engineering files, records, and databases.
- Administration of a company credit card for department purposes including reconciliation.
- Assist with project management tasks, including tracking project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication and information exchange.
- Support data entry on aircraft logbooks daily including reporting all defects/rectification actions taken.
- Support data entry of all rotable component changes and tracking.
- Support and assist with aircraft maintenance planning administrative duties as defined by the Chief Engineer.
- Support with maintaining aircraft logbooks, log cards, and engine logbooks.
- Ensure all aircraft records are accurately recorded, stored, and maintained in accordance with CASA regulatory, and commercial requirements, and that all component histories are maintained.
- Maintaining aircraft technical records as per requirements of CASA.
- Handle procurement processes for office supplies and equipment.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory and compliance documents.
- Support the onboarding process for new engineering team members.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with external suppliers as a representative of the company.
- Conduct regular part/component auditing of stock holdings and physically check against electronic data base.
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and Chief Operating Officer.
- Diploma in Business or equivalent work experience. (Preferred)
- Experience in the Aviation industry including experience with CASR Part 42 and RTO/ASQA compliance. (Preferred)
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in an engineering or technical environment. (Preferred)
- Experience in an education learning environment. (Preferred)
- Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Moodle.
- Experience with AeroTrack. (Preferred)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A confident, friendly personality able to work independently or as part of a team.
As part of the selection process applicants will be required to undertake some or all of the following assessments/checks:
- Pre-employment functional assessment, which will include a drug and alcohol test.
- Australia National Police/Criminal History Check.
