This role is classified as Level 4 role under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement (with a base salary range of $96,483 - $106,688). The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.

The Department
The Curation Specialist role sits within the SBS Streaming & Digital Products curation team, which aligns product initiatives with content strategy by selecting, organising, and promoting content to diverse audiences. We work at the intersection of creativity and precision, helping people navigate our bold and distinctive content portfolio all under one trusted, irreverent, and purpose-driven brand.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Curation, the Curation Specialist will play a critical role in shaping the way our audiences experience SBS On Demand, ensuring content is presented in a way that excites, engages, and invites discovery. The primary role will be to curate a dynamic schedule of content priorities within the most prominent showcases of SBS On Demand. It combines precise planning, engaging copywriting, and polished visual asset preparation to deliver high-quality work that drives discovery and engagement with the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering SBS On Demand's curation strategy by selecting and preparing images, video, and copy that showcases our bold and diverse catalogue.
- Planning and adapting curation schedules with precision, balancing deadlines, insights, and unexpected changes to keep the service dynamic and relevant.
- Ensuring all visual and written assets are compelling, brand-aligned, accessible, and error-free to spark audience engagement and trust.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align curation with product initiatives, audience needs, and strategic priorities.
- Contributing to a creative, accountable, and positive team culture that supports growth and continuous improvement.
About you
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Proven experience in editorial writing, content curation, or a related field, with the ability to communicate with clarity and creativity.
- Strong skills in handling visual and video assets for digital platforms, including image editing, design tools, and a solid understanding of content licensing, copyright, and digital rights management.
- A passion for engaging audiences, with a focus on delivering a standout experience across a diverse catalogue.
- A collaborative mindset, thriving in a high-accountability environment while building strong, positive relationships across teams.
