The role

We're seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive Finance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the CEO, this is a critical role responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and providing valuable insights to support our continued growth. You will be an integral part of our operational success, working closely with leadership and team members to maintain financial health and efficiency.

This full-time role is based at our new offices in Allendale Square. Working closely with Purple's leadership team, you will be responsible for reviewing, developing and implementing best-practice finance strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with Purple's values and business objectives. You will provide expert advice and support to the Board, CEO and staff, fostering a culture of engagement and confidence.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading Purple's finance function ensuring the accurate and timely provision of
  • management reports to the Board, CEO and our significant minority shareholder.
  • Leading the preparation and management of our financial models, annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Identifying key trends, risks and opportunities, and providing insightful financial
  • analysis to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial efficiency
  • and accuracy.
  • Developing and maintaining robust internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Providing advice and support to our CEO on financial matters and systems.
  • Liaising with our external taxation advisors to ensure the timely production of FBT and Income Tax returns.
  • Production and lodgement of quarterly BAS.
  • Cashflow management, including monitoring and management of daily cash flow and
  • forecasts.
  • Liaising with our insurance broker to manage policy renewals for timeliness and adequacy, and any claims made.
  • Providing leadership and hands-on transactional support to our Finance Officer.
Your previous experience and skills will include:
  • Membership of CA ANZ, CPA Australia, or an equivalent international accounting body
  • 4+ years progressive finance/accounting experience including 2+ years in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role.
  • Experience managing end-to-end financial operations for SMEs; professional services background (e.g. consultancy, agency, legal) an advantage.
  • Proficient in Xero (or similar accounting software) and MS Office.
  • Strong understanding of taxation laws, finance internal controls, and risk management (financial, cyber, legislative, reputational, staff).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written & verbal). with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven time management, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • High integrity, discretion, professionalism, and self-motivation; a collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
