About The Role:

This department is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
APS3 Legal Support Officer
who can deliver high-quality administrative and litigation support in a busy legal environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities while working collaboratively within a team.

Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
  • Ability and willingness to undergo Police check clearance
  • Selection Criteria Response

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and administer case files, including photocopying, filing, data entry, and records management
  • Draft routine correspondence and documents using templates
  • Coordinate witnesses, prepare subpoenas/summons, and arrange travel and court-related requirements
  • Prepare and file court documentation, conduct basic research, and organise interpreters or translators
  • Liaise with prosecutors, external agencies, courts, and counsel to support case management
  • Provide advice on systems, processes, and procedures to team members and stakeholders
  • Manage allocated tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster teamwork and contribute to broader organisational goals

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in providing a broad range of administrative or legal support services, preferably in a government or legal environment
  • Strong organisational, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues using established procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, and integrity
  • Flexible and positive approach to change in a dynamic operating environment
