Your new role

The Senior Engineering Analyst is accountable for reviewing, developing, and implementing Technical Maintenance Plans (TMP) for assets related to the Metro to enable Sydney Trains to meet safety and reliability performance targets set by the Rail Services Contract.

The role is to manage the review and updating of the master Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) database/s to enable Technical Maintenance Plans to be produced with an audit trail for the decision-making process and establish/ensure risk-based maintenance requirements analyses including Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for rail equipment within the Metro TMP team scope.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Keeping abreast of developments in maintenance technology, Government policy and Statutory requirements in order to maintain the level of technical expertise required to provide sound advice and guidance to maintenance and operations staff.
  • Effective management of projects and risks by prioritising work and using time management to provide timely advice and cost effective solutions to engineering problems.
  • Establishing and introducing maintenance instructions and projects with limited resources, ensuring that these are taken up by various Maintenance Centre staff and contractors, where parties involved may have conflicting ideas and priorities.
  • Relevant Engineering qualifications recognised for Graduate Membership (or eligibility for Graduate Membership) of IE Australia, or Certificate IV / Diploma qualifications in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in application of Failure Mode, Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) techniques, as well as retrieval and analysis of complex system data and information.
