About The Role
We are seeking a
Senior Project Officer
to provide high‑level support to the Executive Director in driving successful change, governance and structural initiatives. In this fixed‑term role, you will work closely with HR, the PSO team and senior leadership to design, consult, review and deliver frameworks that strengthen the unit's capability and accountability. You will lead consultations, produce governance documentation, and establish clarity around roles and functions.
- Duration: 6 months
- Rate: $62.90/hour + superannuation (PAYG)
- Hours: 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week
- Location: Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a change management plan in consultation with HR and PSO
- Review and refine unit and team functions to align with broader strategy
- Audit, revise and develop role descriptions, including for new roles (approx. 3)
- Create consultation slide decks and related communication materials
- Support the Executive Director in planning and conducting stakeholder consultations
- Assist in governance activities: preparing briefs, agendas, minutes, documentation
- Maintain accurate records of decisions, communications and follow‑ups
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, issue resolution and input gathering
- Monitor progress, risks and dependencies, escalating issues where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies
About You
- Proven experience in project or change roles, especially in government, public health, or large organisational settings
- Strong writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyse, synthesise and translate complex inputs into clear documents
- Experience with governance or consultation processes
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management capabilities
- Ability to work independently under limited direction
- Knowledge of public sector frameworks for role design, change management or governance
- Prior exposure to executive support, consultation design or policy drafting
- Must have full Australian working rights (citizenship, permanent residency, or long-term visa holders)
