Cyber Security & GRC Analyst

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security & GRC Analyst to join their growing team. This opportunity is for someone with 1–2 years of experience in cyber security and/or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) to build their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

You'll be working closely with experienced professionals to support the implementation of cyber security strategies, contribute to risk assessments, and help maintain compliance with key frameworks. This role offers exposure to a wide range of security initiatives and the chance to develop further into the GRC environment.

What will you be doing?

Under guidance and mentorship, you will:

  • Assist in the delivery of cyber security projects and initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Support the development and maintenance of security documentation and policies.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and help track compliance with frameworks such as the Essential Eight and ISM.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure security requirements are considered in new projects.
  • Help monitor and report on security performance, incidents, and vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in awareness activities to promote a strong security culture across the organisation.

Skills and experience required to succeed in this role?

Essential:

  • 1–2 years of experience in cyber security and/or GRC roles.
  • A basic understanding of Australian Government security frameworks (e.g., PSPF, ISM) is desirable.
  • Familiarity with security documentation and risk management practices.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced mentors.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in ICT, Cyber Security, or GRC.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Exposure to tools such as Tenable, Microsoft 365 security features, or Azure security configurations.
  • Experience contributing to vulnerability management or incident response activities.

Clearance required?

  • NV1 Clearance or above.
