The Opportunity

Due to strong and continuous growth, we have a full-time vacancy for an experienced Outage Supervisor – Rotating Equipment to join our team. This role can be based at either our Gladstone, QLD or Lisarow, NSW workshop, depending on the successful applicant's preference.

The position is critical in planning, leading and delivering outage projects, ensuring all rotating equipment activities are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards of reliability and quality.

You will be a self-motivated leader who can coordinate teams, liaise with clients, and manage critical rotating equipment works in dynamic industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise rotating equipment activities during outages and shutdowns.
  • Lead and coordinate teams of mechanical fitters, contractors, and support staff.
  • Must be able to work away on shutdowns/outages for extended periods.
  • Must be available for away work periods of 2-4 weeks duration during shutdowns and outages.
  • Must be able to travel interstate for projects.
  • Plan and oversee disassembly, inspection, repair and reassembly of pumps, compressors, turbines, valves and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM standards, drawings, and site procedures.
  • Manage outage reporting including strip surveys, root cause analysis and rectification recommendations.
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture in line with ISO45001 systems.
  • Liaise directly with clients, engineers and project managers to provide updates and ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Ensure efficiency in project execution while maintaining quality and reliability.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate III or IV in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or Mechanical Engineering background).
  • Proven supervisory experience in outages, shutdowns or major overhauls of rotating equipment. (at least 5 years' proven experience in a supervisory role or similar)
  • Strong technical knowledge of pumps, turbines, compressors and mechanical seals.
  • Full Australian Driver's Licence (C).
  • Must hold Australian citizenship to be eligible for this position.

  • Dangerous Work Safety training.
  • Forklift Licence.
  • MR Truck Licence.
  • High Risk Work Licence (Dogging).
