About the Role

This is a broad role that will suit an experienced accounting professional who enjoys variety and ownership of the finance process. You'll work closely with management, ensuring financial accuracy and providing insights to support business decisions with end-to-end financial management, from compliance and reporting to budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow oversight, ensuring accurate, timely financial information drives operational decisions across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end Accounts payable and receivable management, including invoice processing, daily/weekly & monthly payments, and debtor follow-up.
  • Processing international and overseas payments across multiple currencies
  • Credit card reconciliations and expense management.
  • Cash flow analysis, monitoring and forecasting to support business planning
  • Multiple currency Bank account reconciliations.
  • Month-end reporting, including P&L and variance analysis.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining pre-payment register.
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS/GST returns.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Payroll oversight and ensuring compliance with superannuation and leave entitlements
  • Maintaining and improving internal financial controls and processes.
  • Assisting in the implementation and use of Cargowise financial modules
  • Liaising with external accountants as required.
  • Providing ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to management to support strategic decisions

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Solid experience in accounting or financial control (ideally within freight forwarding)
  • Knowledge of BAS and tax compliance requirements
  • Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
  • Experience managing international payments and multi-currency transactions
  • Proficiency with Cargowise
