PERSOL is partnering with a long-standing and highly regarded national accounting and advisory firm to recruit an experienced
Senior Accountant
for their Sydney office. Known for their supportive culture and focus on professional growth, this firm provides high-quality services to a diverse range of private clients, including individuals, trusts, and companies.

The Role

This full-time position is ideal for a confident and technically skilled accountant who enjoys a mix of compliance and client-facing work. You'll play a key role in managing client files, mentoring junior team members, and supporting process improvements across the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and reconciliations for various entity types
  • Manage GST, FBT, payroll tax, and land tax compliance requirements
  • Respond to ATO and other regulatory correspondence independently
  • Maintain regular client contact and handle day-to-day queries
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and client outcomes
  • Participate in firm initiatives and contribute to a positive team culture

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • 2+ years' experience in a public practice firm
  • CA or CPA qualified or in the process
  • Strong technical tax and accounting knowledge
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • SMSF experience is a bonus, but not essential
  • Exposure to a smaller or mid-tier firm is highly regarded
