We are seeking a Quality Coordinator to take ownership of quality systems, certification management, and audit readiness. This role suits someone with a welding supervision qualification (Cert 10) or the capability and willingness to gain it.

IMF Steel Construction is looking for a Quality Coordinator to manage QA systems, certification processes, and audit preparation across workshop and site projects. Ideally, you'll hold a Welding Supervision qualification (Certificate 10) or be willing to gain it, and bring knowledge of ISO (Safety, Quality, Environment), ISO 3834, AS 5131, and ISO 9606 standards. Key responsibilities include coordinating certifications, maintaining QA processes, preparing quality templates (ITPs, fabrication plans, hold points), and managing subcontractor inspections and NDT requisitions. You'll work closely with supervisors, auditors, and clients to ensure compliance and project quality at every stage. Key responsibilities

  • Maintain and coordinate all QA processes across workshop and site.
  • Manage certification requirements and welder competency records.
  • Prepare job quality templates including ITPs, fabrication plans, and hold points.
  • Oversee subcontractor inspections and requisition NDT.
  • Ensure compliance with AS 5131 (CC2 & CC3), AS 1796, AS 2214, AS 1554, ISO 9606, and ISO 3834.
  • Coordinate audit readiness and liaise with clients and third-party auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement and alignment with ISO standards (Safety, Quality, Environment).

Must-have (minimum requirements)

  • Certificate 10 in Welding Supervision (AS 2214) or capability/willingness to gain.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and ISO systems.
  • Trade background in welding/boilermaking.
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Nice-to-have

  • Structural steel or infrastructure project experience.
  • Experience with ISO 3834 Quality Systems.
  • Additional safety or QA-related certifications.
