Manager, Data and AI | Business Operational Risk Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Risk professional to join a Sydney-based Data & AI risk team within a large global financial and professional services organisation. This team plays a critical role in supporting the organisation's Data & AI division by strengthening its risk profile and embedding a robust Operational Risk Management Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with global Data & AI teams and the broader risk community to advise on operational risk matters
  • Support the uplift of risk culture across the Data & AI function, including Records and Data Officers
  • Lead and deliver monthly risk reporting and facilitate ongoing Risk and Controls Self-Assessments
  • Drive efficiency and improvement initiatives aligned with established risk frameworks and policies
  • Lead conversations with senior stakeholders on emerging risks and the design and implementation of Data & AI risk frameworks

About You

  • 5+ years' experience in operational risk management, preferably in financial services or technology
  • Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, governance processes, and reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to build influential relationships across diverse teams and regions
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and confident in managing multiple priorities
