Veterinary Nurse – Albert Park, VIC

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a well-regarded veterinary surgery in Melbourne's inner south, who are looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join their warm and welcoming surgery. The successful candidate will be responsible for caring for animals under treatment or in temporary residence at veterinary facilities and assisting veterinarians to perform procedures and operations. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a team environment, and be passionate about animal care.

  • Location: Albert Park Vic
  • Job Type: Full-time, ongoing
  • Salary: Negotiable in the range of $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus superannuation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage incoming patients.
  • Assist veterinarians in handling and treating animals.
  • Perform and assist in diagnostics such as X-ray and ultrasound
  • Keeping everything squeaky clean and medically safe
  • Assisting veterinarians with Anaesthesia
  • Recovering animals' post-surgery
  • Administering medications to animals
  • Keeping everything super organised, which will extend to assisting with basic Veterinary reception duties such as data entry, booking appointments and maintaining up to date and accurate patient records.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Highly relevant Certificate IV or agreed equivalent
  • At least one or more years of professional experience in animal care, with previous surgical nursing, emergencies, and critical care experience with furry and feathered companions and wildlife
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Passion for animal care

You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
