We are looking for a warm, friendly, experienced individual to step into the role of an Assistant Practice Manager at Deakin Dental Care.

About the practice:

We are growing general dental practice, offering all forms of general dentistry. The practice was established in 2022 and has grown significantly in the past 3 years, working in a new practice comes with the perks of a new, clean, tidy and modern facility located in Deakin with free parking located just outside the practice.

About the role:

We are looking for someone who can support and work with our experienced Practice Manager. The duties will include but aren't limited to:

  • Staff management - helping with allocating duties and supervising our friendly team of Dental Assistants and Receptionists.
  • Managing the reception area and ensuring all reception duties are completed by the end of the day.
  • Supporting the Practice Manager and Principal Dentist to ensure compliance to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with our Practice Manager.
  • Covering reception - the role will include some reception duties shared with the Practice Manager and Reception team, as well as some more complex administrative duties and responsibilities.
  • The ability to work with different clinicians and support their needs as required. Our clinicians are all lovely, but each have their own needs and wants and the successful applicant will need to be able to support each individually as required.
  • Be an active participant and contributor to our daily huddles and staff meetings.
  • The hours can be flexible for the right candidate, we are open 8-5pm Monday - Friday and Saturday 8.30-1pm and there is an expectation that the successful candidate be available across these days/hours (Saturdays are shared and won't be every Saturday, but 1 or 2 month would be ideal.
  • Pay rate is also negotiable depending on experience.

About you:

  • At least 5 years Dental or Medical experience is preferred, however management or significant reception or customer service experience in any industry will be considered as you will be working closely with our Practice Manager who is onsite full time and can provide the relevant training.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Willingness to grow with and become the face of our practice.
  • Ability to take direction and work closely with our team, especially our Practice Manager and Principal Dentist.
  • Ability to help us work through accreditation policies, procedures and training requirements.
  • Be proactive and take it on. We need someone who can hit the ground running and ensure jobs are completed in their entirety within time frames.
  • Be warm, friendly and empathetic. We do have a lot of anxious and nervous patients, so being able to work closely with them, be supportive and a friendly face for them to go to, is imperative.

Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
