Head of Delivery / Project Manager — Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (FinOps)

Location: Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide preferred (candidates based in these cities strongly favoured)

Australian-owned digital transformation partner delivering enterprise-grade solutions seeks a Head of Delivery / PM . The organisation is a Microsoft Partner specialising in ERP, AI & automation, business applications, data analytics, and full stack program delivery.

They work across multiple industries (manufacturing, advanced supply chain / distribution, retail, construction, professional services) helping organisations modernize legacy systems, improve operational efficiencies, and adopt scalable platforms.

Position Overview

As the Head of Delivery – Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O (FinOps), you will lead and own the strategic delivery of high-impact ERP and digital transformation projects. You will ensure that programs are delivered smoothly from planning through to go-live and beyond, aligning with both technical best practices and business objectives. Your leadership will drive innovation, quality, stakeholder satisfaction and continuous improvement across delivery teams.

You will shape delivery strategy, governance, resource allocation and performance metrics, and work closely with stakeholders — internal and external — to ensure that every implementation contributes to their mission of transforming businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple projects (ERP / Dynamics 365 F&O / FinOps), from discovery & scoping through to deployment, post-go-live support, and continuous improvement.

Define, implement and maintain best-practice delivery frameworks, methodologies, tools & governance to ensure consistency, quality, on-time delivery and cost control.

Manage project portfolios: prioritise initiatives, allocate resources, monitor timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies.

Oversee cross-functional teams: functional consultants, technical consultants, developers, QA, change management, business analysts, possibly third-party vendor partners.

Engage senior stakeholders (C-suite, operational leaders, finance, supply chain, etc.) to align project objectives, define success metrics, manage expectations, and drive adoption.

Lead risk management, issue resolution, change control and ensure that escalation paths are defined and followed.

Build strong team culture: mentoring, coaching, performance management; help develop, retain and scale a high-performing delivery organisation.

Ensure alignment between solution architecture/design decisions, platform capabilities, Microsoft roadmap / best practices (including Azure, DevOps etc.), and business process requirements.

Foster continuous improvement: post-project retrospectives, process refinement, lessons learned, skill development.

Report regularly on delivery status, KPIs, profitability, customer satisfaction and other relevant metrics to senior leadership.

Key Skills & Experience

Proven track record (typically 5+ years) in project / program delivery, specifically with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or equivalent large ERP) implementations.

Strong deep knowledge of FinOps: finance, accounting processes, cost management, revenue recognition, financial reporting etc.

Experience with full life cycle implementations — discovery, requirements gathering, design, configuration, data migration, testing, integration, rollout, support.

Solid experience with Agile, Waterfall, hybrid methodologies; comfortable tailoring methodology to project / client context.

Excellent stakeholder management skills: ability to influence, negotiate, communicate clearly with technical teams, clients, executives.

Strong commercial acumen: budget / financial oversight, delivering profitability, managing scope creep.

Leadership experience: building, leading and growing delivery teams; hiring, mentoring, performance management.

Technical understanding sufficient to make design trade-offs, understand architecture, integrations, infrastructure / cloud components (Azure, DevOps or similar), data migration, etc.

Risk & change management experience.

Exceptional written & verbal communication skills.

Preferably, Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 F&O / FinOps or related; understanding/certification of Microsoft ecosystem.
