Job description:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to standardised recipes and

  • specifications.

  • Utilise various cooking methods, including grilling, frying, baking, and sautéing, to ensure that food is cooked to perfection and meets quality standards.

  • Maintain inventory levels of food supplies, ensuring that ingredients are stocked and stored properly to minimise waste and ensure freshness.

  • Conduct regular inspections of food products to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

  • Monitor food temperatures and cooking times to maintain food quality and safety.

  • Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials, incorporating creative ideas and innovative flavours.

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including equipment cleaning, dishwashing, and sanitation procedures and adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations and timely food service. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate food preparation and delivery.

  • Consistently deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service, exceeding guest expectations and creating positive dining experiences.

  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance culinary skills and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

  • Follow company policies and procedures, including dress code, attendance, and punctuality requirements. Uphold standards of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications/Attributes:

  • Must hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or relevant field, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the qualification

  • Must possess at least 1 year of relevant work experience.

  • Have outstanding communication skills.

  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 p.a. excluding superannuation.
