About the Role
A School Administrative Officer provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, science laboratory, and food technology/kitchen areas.
Essential Requirements
- Working with Children Check Clearance
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake First Aid training.
- Administration of Medications – training to be provided based on student needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively as part of a team.
- Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with teachers and students.
- Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay; hospitality and /or design and technology; science.

Cardiff High School is a coeducational comprehensive school located on the northern side of Lake Macquarie, on the traditional lands of the Awabakal People. In 2025, the school recorded 780 enrolments, including 121 students from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Backgrounds. With steady student population growth in recent years, Cardiff High has established a strong reputation within the Cardiff, Garden Suburb, Hillsborough, and Macquarie Hills communities. The school offers a diverse curriculum that supports a wide range of academic, creative arts, and vocational interests, with many students progressing to tertiary education or local industry pathways.
The school's strategic directions include: 1) Student Growth & Attainment, 2) Belonging, and 3) Aspiration, reflecting its commitment to academic achievement and holistic development. Cardiff High School operates a SOAR Learning Centre (special education) including 54 students in 7 supported classes. The school also operates a Middle School class model to assist and inspire Year 7 students with additional needs. The school is known for its strong performance in academics, sports, and the creative and performing arts.
Staff professional development is a priority, with initiatives like the Aspirational Staff Leadership Program and Quality Teaching Rounds fostering continuous improvement.
