Senior IT Systems Engineer/SIEM Engineer, implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

Responsible for the maintenance of cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets and take a lead role in the build of the cyber security architecture through consultation with internal ICT teams to secure this architecture.

Skills Required

  • Experience using Sentinel or similar SIEM solution
  • In-depth familiarity with the Australian Government ISM
  • Experience with security technologies such as endpoint protection, firewalls and IDS/IPS
  • Extensive experience in Windows, Linux, networking and system administration
  • Experience with security services in the cloud (Azure or AWS)
  • Experience in cyber security monitoring and incident response within, or for, other Federal government agencies

Security clearance: Active NV1 Government Security Clearance

Location: Canberra, A.C.T

Working arrangements: Onsite

Typical working arrangements are Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Shift work may also be required in response to cyber security incidents, and also to support electoral events at key periods (e.g. close of rolls, polling day) This position requires an ONSITE presence at the AEC's national office in Canberra.
