Pedare is a coeducational Anglican and Uniting Church school comprising of Junior (R-5), Middle (Years 6-9) and Senior (Years based in Golden Grove. The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Grounds Person to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.  Working under the guidance of the Grounds Supervisor, the successful candidate will help maintain the grounds to a high standard of safety and appearance.  No prior experience is needed; however the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys outdoor work, has a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

The role:

• Maintain all outdoor areas of the College, including gardens, ovals, courtyards, play spaces, outdoor seating areas and car parks to ensure consistent, well-kept and visually appealing presentation
• Ensure buildings and grounds are free of debris and rubbish. Undertake sweeping or blowing of outdoor areas and empty rubbish bins as required
• Use hand tools, mechanised tools and motorised equipment in safe and proficient manner, as appropriate to the required task
• Assist with furniture relocations, function and sporting equipment/event set ups from time to time
• Ensure and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with the Workplace Health & Safety Act

What we need:

• Having experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications is advantageous but not required
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Positive attitude and a team player
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Punctuality and reliability are essential

Qualifications:

• A current South Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC) - or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement
• Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN) certificate (full course) - or a willingness to obtain prior to commencement
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)

All certificates must be provided to the College prior to commencement of employment; and the College requires the applicant to disclose any information relevant to their eligibility to engage in activities involving children and young people.
