About the role
Ireland Civil Contracting PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Formwork Carpenter - Leading Hand/Team Leader to join our dynamic construction team. This is a Full Time role, offering the opportunity to take on a leadership position and guide a team of skilled carpenters on complex construction projects.
What you'll be doing
- Overseeing a team of carpenters and ensuring the timely and efficient installation of formwork components
- Providing guidance and direction to the team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to complete tasks to a high standard
- Coordinating the workflow and managing the allocation of tasks within the team
- Monitoring quality and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
- Troubleshooting any issues that arise and implementing solutions to keep the project on track
- Liaising with project managers, engineers, Supervisor and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any concerns
- Mentoring and training junior team members to develop their skills and expertise
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Formwork Carpenter, with a proven track record of leading and managing a team
- Strong carpentry skills and knowledge of formwork construction techniques
- Experience in Civil works is essential. Cast-insitu stormwater drainage structures and Bridges
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the ability to think critically and find creative solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team
- Familiarity with relevant construction regulations and safety standards
- Ability to work collaboratively with other trades and stakeholders
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent
