POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an Experienced Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading work crews, managing day-to-day site operations, and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification. You'll be involved in a variety of civil construction tasks, including roadworks, drainage, culverts and earthworks, and will play a key role in mentoring Aboriginal workers and supporting skills development across the team.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As an Experienced Civil Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading work crews, managing day-to-day site operations, and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification. You'll be involved in a variety of civil construction tasks, including roadworks, drainage, culverts and earthworks, and will play a key role in mentoring Aboriginal workers and supporting skill development across the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Hands-On Leadership: Lead by example on site, working alongside your crew to demonstrate strong civil construction skills and set clear expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and guide a small team of operators and labourers, ensuring efficient workflow and safe, high-quality results.
  • Project Delivery: Manage and oversee civil works including road construction, drainage, culvert installation and earthworks — from planning and scheduling through to completion.
  • Client Communication: Liaise with Main Roads WA supervisors and engineers, providing updates and ensuring works are delivered to client standards.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate plant, materials and manpower to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all civil works meet Main Roads WA and industry specifications, maintaining high standards at every stage.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce site safety requirements, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure crew compliance with safety regulations.
  • Role Modelling: Be a role model for your team, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven experience in civil construction supervision, ideally with exposure to Main Roads WA projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crews and manage multiple work fronts.
  • Strong skills in planning, resourcing and scheduling.
  • Experience in civil construction tasks such as earthworks, drainage, culverts, concreting and road building.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and crews effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and proven ability to enforce compliance on site.
  • Valid driver's licence (HR or higher preferred).
  • White Card and relevant civil/construction tickets highly regarded.
