Truck Driver

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shall include, but not be limited to:

· Competent operation of various heavy machinery, including concrete agitator truck, tip truck, skip bin truck, front end loader, forklift, backhoe.

· Loading, carting, cleaning and maintenance of trucks.

· Batching of concrete, locally and remote, deliver concrete to site with competent use of agitator truck, controls and delivery to customer.

· Hands on labouring tasks associated with vehicle operation, cleaning, mechanical and operational.

· Yard cleanup and maintenance, concrete block maintenance and general housekeeping.

· Daily maintenance of assigned plant.

· On-the-job training and transfer of knowledge and skills to fellow work colleagues.

· Commitment to contributing to and maintaining a culture of Best Practice as the means to improve our service delivery processes.

· Work within confines of environmental legislation, ensuring best practice work procedures to minimise environmental impact.

· Commitment to actively participate in training and skill development to suit the work environment.

· Customer service.

· Unloading the vehicles.

· Performing regular safety and quality checks (i.e. load limitations, distribution of weight etc);

· Daily maintenance of assigned vehicles, including cleaning and work cooperatively with mechanical service personnel in the repair and maintenance of assigned plant, including recording of pre-start checks.

· Other responsibilities as delegated by the Directors within the scope of this position

QUALIFICATIONS

· Minimum current HR drivers licence

· White Card

· Forklift ticket

· Hiab Licence (10 T Boom)

· Rigging/Dogging licence

· Other plant such as backhoe, front end loader

· First aid certificate

KNOWLEDGE

· Experienced tip truck driver.

· Experienced concrete agitator truck driver.

· Experience

· Knowledge of mechanical operations

· Relevant experience in industry

· Experience in concrete operations, construction or engineering.

WORK HEALTH SAFETY, QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL OBLIGATIONS:

Worker's responsibilities include the following:

· Comply with all statutory obligations, including Broomecrete Health and Safety Handbook and current Work Health and Safety Acts, regulations and code of practice

· Take reasonable care for their own health and safety.

· Ensure actions or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others or the environment.

· Comply with any and all policy, procedures and work instructions to ensure the requirements for health, safety, quality and environment are adhered to in the workplace.

· Immediately notifying the Director of any workplace hazard identified and rectify hazard if possible.

· Raise any non-conformance with their supervisor.

· Ensure that you are 'fit for work' at all times and are not adversely affected by either drugs, alcohol or fatigue.

· Informing your supervisor as soon as possible of anything which may be harmful to the environment, for example, spills and leaks.

· Complete safety observation's and ensure that any hazardous conditions, near misses and injuries are reported immediately and closed out in a timely manner
• Participate in incident investigations

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour

Experience:

• Concrete agitator truck, Grano worker or equivilent: 5 years (Required)

Licence/Certification:

• HR Licence (Required)
• Forklift Licence (Required)
• Hiab 10T licence (Required)
