About the role

Billet Engineering is seeking experienced Fitter Turners, CNC Machinists and First-Class Machinist to join our team in West Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. These are full-time roles where you will be responsible for the assembly, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of hydraulic cylinders from various equipment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our manufacturing facility.

What you'll be doing

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to carry out required work
  • Operate a variety of manual and automated metalworking machines such as lathes, mills and borers
  • Carry out, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions on various components.
  • Fabricate and modify parts and components to meet specific requirements
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
  • Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

  • Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Fitter-Machinist in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
