About the role

AJL Mechanical Contracting Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical equipment and machinery used in the mining industry. This is a casual position, offering the flexibility to work according to your availability.

What you'll be doing

  1. Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of mechanical equipment and machinery
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical systems and components
  3. Perform repairs and overhauls to restore equipment to optimal working condition
  4. Ensure all work is completed to high standards and in compliance with safety regulations
  5. Contribute to the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  6. Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to ensure efficient and effective operations

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant trade qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent
  2. Significant experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in a mining or industrial environment
  3. Specific experience in open pit mining operations is required
  4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and rectify mechanical issues
  5. Excellent mechanical aptitude and hands-on practical skills
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals
  7. Commitment to safety and a strong safety-first mindset
  8. Must hold valid work visa or authorisation to work in Australia
