Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our customer' Platform Engineering team as an Associate Platform Engineer. In this role, you will leverage your deep expertise in cloud-native technologies to build, manage, and automate the deployment of Appian on self-managed Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Kubernetes and Terraform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex infrastructure, a deep understanding of the Appian platform, and a passion for automation and developer productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage the end-to-end cloud platform infrastructure for Appian on AWS using Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the provisioning and configuration of AWS resources.
  • Work with Appian's Kubernetes operator and Helm charts to deploy, manage, and scale Appian installations.
  • Automate deployment pipelines and workflows for Appian applications using CI/CD tools to ensure consistent and repeatable releases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform-level issues, including performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health, performance, and reliability of the Appian environment.
  • Ensure the platform adheres to security best practices, governance, and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Cloud or Platform Engineer with a strong focus on AWS infrastructure.
  • Deep, hands-on experience with containerization technologies, specifically deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes.
  • Extensive experience with Terraform for automating cloud infrastructure provisioning.
  • Strong practical experience with the Appian server and engines, particularly in self-managed, cloud-based deployments.
  • Expertise in cloud-native architecture principles, microservices, and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CKA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development or relevant internships.
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
  • Hands-on on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience on containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and eager attitude towards learning new technologies.
