About the Role

As a Village Manager in our Retirement Living community in Inner North Canberra, you'll lead with purpose ensuring residents experience the highest quality of life while fostering a warm, welcoming, and well-run environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning their space, working with autonomy, and building strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families. You'll be the heart of the village overseeing daily operations, supporting your team, and ensuring the smooth delivery of services that make every day rewarding for residents and staff alike.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the village and café within budget
  • Build positive relationships with residents and address their needs with empathy
  • Oversee property maintenance and safety standards
  • Manage budgets, reporting, and administrative functions in line with Goodwin policies
  • Support, coach, and develop staff to deliver excellent service
  • Participate in community activities, resident meetings, and village events

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in management within a service-driven environment like Aged Care, Hospitality and /or Retail
  • Strong business acumen and budget management skills
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding and empathy for the needs of aging residents
  • Ability to lead and develop teams with care and professionalism
  • Solid administrative and computer proficiency

Desirable:

  • Qualifications and/or experience in Hospitality, Facilities, Aged Care or Retirement Living Management
  • Knowledge of Retirement Village legislation
