The Opportunity

A rare opportunity now exists for an experienced operations leader to take ownership of business systems, finance, and strategic delivery within a forward-thinking professional services firm experiencing strong growth. This newly elevated role sits at the centre of the organisation's leadership structure, providing direct support to the Managing Director and Board.

You'll be joining a technically skilled and commercially focused team who value innovation, accountability, and continual improvement. The business has built a strong reputation for excellence and is now looking for a capable professional to help scale its systems, processes, and performance to the next level.

The Role

As Executive Manager – Business Operations, you will lead and coordinate the internal functions that underpin the company's success, including:

  • Overseeing day-to-day office and business operations
  • Managing internal finance reporting, budgeting, month-end, and external providers
  • Maintaining and improving business systems such as PowerBI, SharePoint, and Deltek PIM
  • Supporting strategic growth initiatives including office expansion and service diversification
  • Leading governance, compliance, and ISO-level quality assurance processes
  • Overseeing HR, IT, marketing, and insurance providers
  • Preparing board reports and partnering with directors on key commercial decisions

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both operational discipline and strategic foresight.

About You

You are an experienced business or operations manager with strong commercial acumen and the ability to bring structure and clarity to a fast-moving environment. You are comfortable working with data and systems, enjoy solving problems, and thrive on making a tangible impact across all areas of a business.

You will bring:

  • 8+ years' experience in business or operations leadership
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and business systems
  • Experience leading or managing external providers (IT, marketing, finance, HR)
  • Proven ability to improve processes, implement systems, and drive efficiency
  • A collaborative leadership style with a genuine interest in people and culture
