About Cadia

Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. The Opportunity

Responsible for developing, optimising, and implementing the 5-year plan for Cadia's underground mining and surface operations through an integrated planning process.

With your senior technical capability, you will identify and evaluate key strategic projects and decisions, balancing technical and operational considerations to deliver optimal mine-to-mill outcomes.

The role also collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams and leverages advanced software systems to ensure effective planning and execution.

Key responsibilities include

• Apply long-term plans to align with corporate goals and maximize resource value.
• Align 5-year to Life Of Mine (LOM) and integrated Strategic Plan.
• Deliver modelling for various mining scenarios and options using advanced simulation tools for the underground mines, and presentation to regional stakeholders.
• Drive the integration of mine plans with current operations to ensure operational continuity. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop plans that addresses technical, environmental, and economic challenges.
• Optimize planning granularity 5-year by increasing the level of detail in scheduling, and budgeting
• Opportunity to support the estimation of mineral reserves and resources annually.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to think strategically, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. They will also demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and bring a proactive mindset, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering outcomes that support both operational and organisational success.

Your technical background will include:

• Qualified Mining Engineer with proven capability in underground designing and scheduling in a variety of operations.
• Experience mine planning, studies and business improvement initiatives
• Advanced mine planning and analysis capabilities
• Competent in the use of mining software packages: Deswik (Essential) and PCBC (Highly regarded)
