Lalor Park Public School lies in the heart of Lalor Park, within the Blacktown Local Government Area. We are a comprehensive P–6 school catering for students from Preschool through to Year 6. The school provides inclusive, high-quality education that reflects the diverse needs, backgrounds, and aspirations of our community.
Currently, (enrolment of % of students are supported through the Learning and Support caseload, 15.3% identify as being of Aboriginal background, and 16.7% come from a language background other than English. This diversity enriches our community and underpins our commitment to equity, inclusion, and personalised learning.
Our programs include inclusive education classes for students with Autism and other disabilities, alongside mainstream classes addressing the full K–6 syllabus. A team of specialist educators supports students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The Learning and Support Assistant Principal plays a key role in building teacher capacity to meet individual learning needs through differentiated and evidence-informed practice. Together, we work in partnership with parents and carers to build the team around each child — ensuring that every student is known, valued, and cared for.
Selection CriteriaIn addition to the general selection criteria, Approval to teach special education and/or experience.
Demonstrated capacity to lead and drive a culture of whole-school inclusion and wellbeing practices.
Proven ability to differentiate curriculum and instruction using evidence-informed practices to drive individual student growth.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead, mentor, and foster collaboration within dynamic teams, building staff capability to effectively meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
