Position Information
Quakers Hill East is a public school located in Acacia Gardens. We currently have 658 student enrolments across 26 mainstream classes and 2 support classes.

At Quakers Hill East, the key teaching focus is to improve student outcomes in literacy and numeracy by developing outstanding teaching programs that meet the individual needs of the learner. Learning is supported by state of the art interactive resources, enabling staff and students to embrace new technologies, increasing the significance and relevance of learning experiences and maximising student engagement in their learning. The school community continually evaluates and reviews current operations to ensure that we move forward and continue to provide the best possible educational experiences, learning environment and learning outcomes for our students.

At the start of 2025 Quakers Hill East Public School established 2 multi-categorical classes. A third class is being established in 2026 and the newly formed support unit will require a passionate and experienced educator to lead the team as Assistant Principal - Special Education.
Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria,

Proven experience in leading inclusive programs to cater for the social, emotional, and educational needs of students with disabilities and additional support requirements.

Ability to design, implement, and monitor age-appropriate, differentiated curriculum and teaching strategies tailored to individual student needs, incorporating current best practices and evidence-based approaches to maximise engagement and learning outcomes.

Proven capacity and skills in fostering a positive work environment that promotes staff collaboration and professional growth in a setting catering for students with complex educational needs.

Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining a high standard of strong, genuine partnerships with parents and various stakeholders in a dynamic setting catering for the educational provision of a range of students with disabilities.

General Selection Criteria
  1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
