As a Senior Finance Analyst at the Ministry of Health, you'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring compliance across NSW Health. Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 - $142,665 p.a. plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide advice to senior management on compliance with financial controls, reporting requirements and support effective decision making by analysing and reporting on complex financial information
  • Support the Principal finance Analyst in Coordinating and facilitating the process for the preparation and review of the annual financial statements and other reports to ensure accuracy to inform External Audit and other relevant stakeholders. Identify and provide recommendations and implement changes in financial and procurement systems to ensure desired business outcomes for stakeholders are achieved
  • Assist with the preparation of Monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, and liaising with other finance branches on processes that impact the general ledger. Provide analytical support services to respond to client requests and support business case development and decision making
  • Manage financial analysis and review and, where required, the approval of the financial components of business cases, proposals and submissions to Treasury or other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate and consult with key stakeholders to guide them in financial reporting, and other statutory reporting, and other duties as directed by Financial Controller

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:

  • CPA/CA qualification
  • Knowledge of Public Sector Finance and Audit Act and Australian accounting standards
  • Experience in Financial Reporting and control for a complex organization.
  • Experience in the provision of Financial accounting services to senior management and provision of strategic financial advice
