Retail and Kitchen Assistant

Part-time: 15 – 25 hours

Location: Toorak

Overview

This role is for a dynamic, energetic collaborator who is willing to join our fish shop on a casual basis with the potential to become permanent part or full-time. The key role is to provide stellar customer service and assistance with preparation of seafood products.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Customer service (greet customers, assist them with any queries and questions)

· Look after display appearance and stock rotation.

· Process payments by using cash register and POS.

· Assist with fish trimming, deboning, and portioning.

· Assist with preparation of seafood products (chowder, pies, fishcakes, salads etc).

· Maintain cleanliness in the store, including the kitchen, as well as outside areas.

Skills and experience

· Proficient in English.

· Excellent communication skills with good phone manners.

· Strong customer experience focus.

· Understanding the importance of health & safety and hygiene (food safety certificate advantageous).

· Proven ability to work autonomously as well as being a collaborator.

· Physically fit (be able to work long hours on your feet and to lift up to 15kg).

· Previous food retail and/or preparation experience is desirable.

· Be able to work in a busy environment and under pressure.
