About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and driven Group Inventory and Production Manager to oversee inventory control and production operations across our sites.  This role is critical to optimising inventory levels, ensuring smooth production workflows, and aligning output with business demands.

As the Group Inventory and Production Manager, you will perform a pivotal role in leading and managing the inventory team, the production planning, supplier management, manufacturing timelines and costs, and inventory control across all of Weatherbeeta's product ranges and brands.  You will ensure products are delivered on time, low cost and to budget, and at the required quality standards, while optimising inventory levels to meet sales demand without overstocking.

Core Responsibilities:

Inventory Management & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Develop and maintain optimal stock levels across our local and international distribution centres and 50+ retail store locations.
  • Implement forecasting models to predict demand and align inventory accordingly.
  • Manage slow-moving or obsolete stock and develop strategies to minimise waste and markdowns.
  • Oversee stock audits and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy.

  • Communicate proactively with other colleagues across departments to ensure optimal inventory management practices.

  • Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient movement of all products/goods.
  • Support the integration of inventory management systems for real-time tracking.
  • Liaise with the marketing and retail teams to support product launches, promotions, and replenishment cycles ensuring products are at required sites.
  • Create reports on production KPIs, inventory turnover, stock aging, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement in production and inventory operations.
  • Driving the continuous improvement of production and inventory management

Production Planning & Management and Quality Control

  • Oversee end-to-end production processes for all our product lines (equestrian products, dog wear, human apparel, footwear, and other accessories).
  • Liaise with product designers, merchandising manager and other staff to align production plans with seasonal collections.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely delivery from domestic and international manufacturers.
  • Negotiate lead times and manage capacity planning with suppliers and factories.

About You

  • Strong understanding of production cycles and technical garment manufacturing and inventory management
  • Experience with inventory optimisation tools, demand forecasting software
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor/supplier management skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach
  • Excellent business / commercial acumen
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams across different time zones
  • Strong work ethic and drive to deliver results

  • Flexible and adaptable individual

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Production Management, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in production and inventory management, preferably within outdoor wear, sportswear, equestrian and/or fashion
  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers, especially in Asia is desirable
  • Familiarity with sustainability and ethical sourcing practices in apparel production is a plus
  • Own car and valid driver's license
  • Willing to travel for business on occasions
  • PR or Australian Citizen
