Western Local Land Service (LLS) is seeking an enthusiastic Senior Biosecurity Officer to deliver frontline activities as part of the 2025/26 Feral Pig and Pest Project (FPPP) in the Cobar area.
In this role, you will:
- Lead regional consultation and engagement with landholders, stakeholders, and community groups.
- Establish and maintain project management systems, processes, and governance arrangements.
- Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the FPPP to ensure effective outcomes across the region.
- Support biosecurity compliance activities and provide expert advice to landholders.
- Coordinate operational responses that reduce the impact of feral pigs and pest animals on farming enterprises and the environment
About you
We're looking for someone with strong skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and biosecurity operations. You'll be proactive, collaborative, and able to balance technical complexity with practical on-ground delivery. Experience in pest animal management and knowledge of relevant legislation will help you succeed in this role.
Essential requirements include:
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in biosecurity, natural resource management, or a related field.
- Capacity to hold a NSW firearms licence and relevant authorisations to humanely destroy animals.
- Current NSW Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel.
