About the role

We have an exciting and rewarded support opportunity to share with you. Located in Hampton Park, you will be part of a 24/7 care team to support a down to earth gentleman in his 50s with a spinal cord injury.

You will provide full personal care, catheter care, and bowel care. Due to the nature and complexity of the client's needs, you will need to have relevant disability experience. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition.

Your key responsibilities

Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:

  • Manual handling
  • Catheter care
  • Personal care
  • Bowel care
  • community access
  • Medication administration
  • Domestic assistance
  • pressure area management
  • Rehabilitation exercises

About you

To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Previous disability experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Manual handling experience (essential)
  • Bowel care (essential)
  • Personal care experience
  • Catheter care (essential)
  • Current First aid and CPR
  • NDIS Screening Card
  • Manual handling certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Medication certificate (or willing to obtain)

We are also looking for someone with great communication skills, who works well in a team, has a caring and supportive nature, and is client-focused.
