Lead site operations, drive performance and shape the future of an iconic Australian brand.
Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on and experienced Site Manager to lead our North Fremantle operations in Western Australia. This full-time permanent role is more than just warehouse management — you'll be managing a liquid sugar processing facility, overseeing a broad scope of operational, governance, and contractor activities across our North Fremantle site and Bunbury activities.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of site operations including equipment maintenance, container loading, team leadership, and coordination with local authorities and contractors. You'll also take on Bunbury WA discharge operations four times a year, requiring travel to Bunbury WA for approximately four weeks annually.
What you'll be doing:
As Site Manager, you will oversee daily operations at our North Fremantle site, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver operational excellence and continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for:
- Managing site operations and leading a small team to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
- Overseeing liquid sugar processing operations and warehousing.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained to manufacturer standards and operates at full capacity.
- Driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, through regular safety walks, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Preparing and managing site budgets, operational improvement plans, and financial reviews.
- Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
- Liaising with local authorities and overseeing contractor activities.
- Leading and developing your team through training, performance management, and positive site culture initiatives.
- Supporting Bunbury discharge operations and travelling as required.
What you'll bring to the role:
We're looking for a practical, results driven and hands-on leader with:
- Trade qualification (mechanical preferred).
- Current Forklift licence.
- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing/operations (food industry preferred).
- Minimum 3 years experience leading teams.
- Experience with creating and managing budgets.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Knowledge of OH&S regulations, standards and procedures.
- Experience in continuous improvement and quality systems.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.
