Dimmeys are an Australian owned private business. First established in 1853, we don't mind admitting that we're an old fashioned retailer focused on helping our customers stretch their dollar further. We are a discount retail chain offering our customers a range of branded and value for money; ladieswear, menswear, childrenswear, homewares and home furnishings.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a retail store manager. Don't like sitting behind a desk? Great, because we don't want you to spend any more time than is absolutely necessary doing paperwork. We want you on the shop floor working beside your team – leading from the front You will get your hands dirty and be on the go all day every day. As a successful candidate you must ideally have at least 2 years retail experience, an eye for detail, a strong work ethic, a hands on attitude to your work as some lifting will be involved as the following will be required - accepting deliveries, breaking down pallets, merchandising, stocking shelves, setting up fixtures, ticketing and training your staff so that they perform to your high standards.

To secure this position you must be available to start immediately, as the store will be required to be setup. You will also be willing to do some general cleaning and housekeeping in the store and eligible to work in Australia.

Most importantly be flexible with availability (Able to work weekdays and weekends)

As the store manager you will be responsible for:

  • Achieving sales
  • Leading and motivating your team

For success in this role you will have the following attributes:

  • 2-3 years Store Management experience (apparel)
  • Reliable
  • A creative flair and experience merchandising stock
  • Positive attitude with lots of initiative
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Passion for retail and bargains
  • Be a team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Brilliant time management skills
